Do banner networks cheat publishers?
Recently I have discovered sad truth about advertising banner networks. Apparently the majority of impressions you generate for almost any network do not generate you any income.
FastClick, to my dissapointment, show only the first three banners from a "pay" category to every unique visitors. Everything after that - they use in their own interest or for charitable organizations. Actually, sometimes their systems are programmed in such a way so that it lowers your total number of actual impressions, which brings us to lower pay-outs. I started noticing that after one of my sites could not generate more than a hosting-fee-level income in certain months, even though over 200,000 impressions were served (which was also lowered). Have you noticed that with your program anywhere? And what do you think about that? Personally, I quit all banner networks as whatever they advertise of being "the highest paid program" is very much just words. Unfortunately. Best, |

This is an excellent post, I was recently ripped of on a banner scam and now refuse to place my banner on another site if there are cost involved.

Eric, I believe nowadays we can get more revenues when we are selling on our own.
