CNN.com utilizes new banner standard

I noticed CNN.com, as of November 06, 2003, introduced usage of the new banner standard on their web site: 728 x 90 pixels.

I also noticed Quote.com (Lycos Finance section) has redesigned their site recently and now use the same banner standard.

And finally, the fact that Google AdSense now allows publishers add the same standard on their pages says that its one of the best performing standards nowadays.

Those are big mothers. And just shows you how much bigger they now need to be to get the attention of the visitor, and how much they're trying to balance this with how big they're able to get away with.
